      Product Description

      From Library Journal
"Ethical hacking" may seem like an oxymoron, but to 17-year-old Indian high school student Fadia, it's a way of life. This book extends his Hacking Truths site (hackingtruths.box.sk), describing hackers as computer experts who do break into systems but refrain from causing damage. From password cracking to finding hacking utilities online, the ideas here will help intermediate to advanced readers protect their own systems and resolve situations ranging from lost passwords to viruses. While the writing is somewhat awkward, Fadia's voice and perspective shine through. Recommended for larger libraries.

      1.0 out of 5 stars Garbage, Oct 27 2002
      By A Customer
If you are a beginner and know how to use a search engine such as google, then you will get all the information in this book for free from the Net (I bet thats what the author did as well). I have been working in Security for over 9 years and I don't understand what is so special about this book - more like garbage to me. Check out Ryan Russell's - Hack Proofing Your Network - 2nd Editon and Mike Shiffeman's new - Building Open Source Network Security tools. These are worth spending $$.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pure junk.., Oct 25 2002

Funny how people can get away with this kind of garbage. The 5* reviews must have been written by the author himself. Waste of money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Did you ever heard about copyrights ?, Oct 21 2002
By  "salym" (France) - See all my reviews
Whereas I'm a security auditor now, I started first as a Blackhat. This book is everything but valuable information. He cut'n'past some garbage tutorials written by [...] hackers, then he mixed them into the form of a ... well... let's say a ... book. If you want to spend time and money, if you want to learn everything but what hacking is and how a blackat think, just read this book.

You'll find most of the content of this book in his website. Just make a Google search and discover yourself how he just pladgied...

      Hope this helps.
